It’s understood that Google is best at what it does. There isn’t anything you can’t find on the web, thanks to Google! But what makes it stand apart from the rest? That would be the tricks and treats that it occasionally surprises you with. Nope, we aren’t talking about the Doodles. Well, that’s a whole different topic if you want to talk about. Doodles are fun too!
Inspired by the Sandra Bullock movie, naaa.. this was way before the movie was even thought about. This is based on pure physics. Just type in “Google Gravity” (Without quotes) in the Google bar and click on “I’m feeling lucky” . The search bar, Google logo and all the other items on the page fall down like bricks. You and pick these up with the cursor and throw them around or at the walls.
2. Barrel Roll:
Yes, Google will do one for ya! Not your computer or laptop, just the webpage will do a roll barrel! Simply key in “do a barrel roll” (without quotes)
Same as the other tricks, like the names sounds, the webpage gets tilted, slightly to your right. All you have to do is type in tilt (without quotes). It gives you the results but on the tilted screen! Tilted results eh?
4. Google Pirate:
Gentlemen, m’ladies, if you are a fan of the Captain Jack Sparrow, bow down and make this setting your default. Just type in “Google Pirate” (Without quotes) and click on the first result. Sign in option becomes “Sail into port”, Google search becomes “Google Searrch”. Search for your treasures on this, the Pirate way!
5. Annoying Google:
This one is really an annoying one! Do not try it unless you are in a funny mood, because this really messes up the font like randomly changing from lower-case to upper case.
6. Zerg rush:
Are you in a clickety-click mood today? Just type Zerg Rush in Google search bar and the Google O’s from the logo would rush in from all directions and eat up your results. Click on these to kill them. There is also a counter on the right showing your kills!
7. Google Mirror aka elgoog:
Simple and as the names says, it reverses or otherwise shows a mirror image of the search page and the results too. This twisted version is also called Google backwards. Just go to elgoog.im
8. Google Sphere:
This is getting kinda boring yea, but this is also as the name sounds, spherical version of Google page! The web pages become an animated globe or a swirling sphere.
Well, we are all lazy and so we have LMGTFY for our lazy days! It’s “Let Me Google That For You’. Just type your search words and it will bring up a link to a page which spoon feeds you how to get the info
10. Dance Google Dance:
A Google version of SYTYCD. Just select the link and viola, Google gets in to the dance mood!
11. Google Pac-man:
Tired of all the work? Thinking of taking a break at work? What better than the Pac-man to bring back your childhood memories! The Google’s Pac-Man doodle was released as a 30th anniversary celebration. Play all you want but then don’t get caught by your boss (unless you are the boss, of course). So chomp away!
12. Google’s Nessie:
This is especially for all those nocturnal beings! Set up the Google beach theme on your iGoogle homepage, then right when the clock hits 3:14 AM (yup, that the digit of Pi, well, of course you already know that!) the tide rises and so does the Lochness monster! this Google trick is something you gotta wait out!
13. Google Hacker:
This Google trick kinda works just like how the pirate version works. This is the l33tsp33k version! 50 CU5+0M1z3 4nd WEirD ou+ yOuR fr1EnDS W1th +H15 Ver$10n 0F 9009L3
This is more than just a simple trick. It’s Google having a laugh at you! It’s just one of those “did you mean” suggestion jokes. Search for the word “recursion” and Google shows a “did you mean” suggestion of the exact same word! Recursion means repeating. Ha Ha! Get it?
15. Epic Google and Weenie Google:
These two are brothers. One gets bigger and the other gets smaller. I mean the Google search bar and tabs on the webpage. Well, you can guess which one’s which, can’t you?
16. Google Underwater:
Do not try if you have hydrophobia or can’t swim! Well, just kidding…Of course you can, cos you don’t need to get anywhere near water. The webpage has water, all kinds of fishes and the search bar along with its tabs floating on the water. You don’t have know any kinda of coding or anything. You have read this article right? Just remember the titles and that it!
